Our presenter on August 26th is Edelweiss Florist. Originally from Colombia, Maria came to Regina in 2009, describing the experience simply as, “Regina chose me.” She opened Edelweiss in 2018, bringing her passion for flowers, colour and creating beautiful spaces to the community. Her background in real estate and event venues in Colombia introduced her to the joy of decorating spaces, and she discovered that flowers were where her heart was. The business continued to evolve, including a renewed focus during COVID on staying connected with customers through online engagement.

At the heart of Edelweiss is Maria’s belief that flowers are about more than flowers. They are about moments, connection and helping someone say something that is sometimes difficult to put into words. This led her to open Edelweiss Floral Boutique and Cafe in December 2025. 

Being part of the Regina community and contributing to people's stories is an important part of her business. Maria expressed deep appreciation for the support Edelweiss has received from the community, particularly from members and organizations that regularly use their floral services and who trust Edelweiss with their special events.
