No Place Like Home
Born in Moose Jaw, raised in Regina, Janet left a career from numerous industries and has been running No Place Like Home for over 12 years.
Janet started her business because her family passed away at an early age so she wants to help those lucky enough to have long lives. She also found it rewarding to volunteer with seniors but saw an opening when there were few support companies such as hers. She wants to empower seniors so they aren't so dependant on family or friends. For family, she can be an extra set of hands, especially if they don't live nearby, to give piece of mind that their loved one is in good hands.
Each client has different needs and support systems to go with them. Whether she meets with a client only once or weekly, Janet ensures each interaction is meaningful and memorable.
The No Place Like Home Service offering falls into one of three categories:
- Help going out: shopping primarily, this is great for seniors who are mobile. Groceries, shopping for family (greeting cards), helping with gifts, etc. Also includes appointments and errands like going to the bank, pharmacy, doctor appointments (particularly useful as Janet can take notes)
- Help at home: laundry, sewing on a button, changing bedding, meal prep, handwriting letters and cards, cleaning a closet, even filling the water softener.
- Companion Services: visits to the floral conservatory, outings for tea or coffee, walks around parks, or even staying in and sharing puzzles, crafts, games, and music.
Janet is bonded, insured, and works with complimentary services like house cleaners. Success is shared with smiles, laughter, and hugs!
