Lorme Drugs
Chris Perentes has been a member of the Breakfast Club since 1996! He operates 2 pharmacies under the Pharma Choice banner. With over 1100 independently owned locations, they're the fastest growing pharmacy in Canada.
Lorne Drugs has been operating since 1928, the oldest pharmacy in Regina! In that time, pharmacy had changed to invite complete health care needs of patients. For example, opiate addiction services, contacts to residents of senior centres, publicly funded vaccinations, administration of medicine like vitamin B12, and medication assessments. They can also prescribe for things like insect bites, to save you from having to wait in an emergency room.
The Saskatchewan Drug Plan and Seniors Drug Plan help people save money. The Senior Plan is for residents 65+, who pay a maximum of $25 for any drug, determined by age and income ($75,819/year or less). Chris recommends applying even if you don't need it. The Special Support Program also helps based on income, but it helps all ages with drugs not covered under the health plan. For example, an individual with a $40k income and 2 kids would only pay 37% of total cost, with a $500 deductible. Another example, with 2 incomes over $100k and 2 kids, $1200/mo in prescription costs, the plan would pay 40% so they only pay 60%. The only requirement is to fill out a simple form and file your taxes annually.
If you'd like to transfer your prescriptions to Lorne Drugs, just come in! All pharmacies contact each other as a courtesy between each other, so the work is done for you after you provide some basic info.
